Guitarist Tony Romano

Guitarist Tony Romano  has been a visible part of the New York City music scene for over twenty years, adding music director, arranger and teacher to his repertoire. He has toured worldwide, performed and recorded with many notable Jazz, Latin, Pop and Broadway artists.

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Tony perform solo and with many musicians and artists.  Including The Americas Project  Tony Romano and Kelsey Jillette’s percussion-based quartet based on beautiful genre-melding North and South American folk music.  Wednesday Jazz Nights with the Kat Gang Jazz Band (Kat Gang, Phil Palombi, Jay Sawyer and Tony Romano) delivering Jazz, Bebop, Swing, Scat, Folk, Funk, and Mainstream Jazz at The Plaza’s Rose Lounge.

In August of 2017, Tony released his CD: Dance For One – solo compositions that he wrote between 2008 and 2011.  Take a moment and listen.  Each individual track is clever, emotive and unique.  Each piece stands on its own, telling a story of its own.  My personal favorite, the title track, Dance For One, is beautiful and bittersweet. For me personally, when Tony plays, I feel his wide range of emotion and energy.  He serenades a room through every guitar chord and note, lighting up the room with heart and soul. I encourage you to go see him perform.
